Dancing on my own

Hello all,  currently trying to finish 'The Libertines - Bound Together' by Anthony Thornton and Roger Sargent.
In the mean time, I've been surfing the web again, tracking down quotes and pictures that inspire me (=

Hope you enjoy them..

Are summer resolutions acceptable?

I'm currently on study leave, which means I've got lots of time (on my hands) to revise...
So I've been thinking what can I do to motivate me through these rather dull few weeks ahead?  I've come up with a few things which I'd like to achieve during this time, and I'll keep you posted as to whether they actually happen! (=

1. Get fit!
- I don't do nearly enough excercise these days, need to get in shape for the summer! Tres excited.

2. Drink less tea, more water
- I drink, (as you may know from twitter) copious amounts of tea... To be honest I'm slightly addicted and I have 2 sugars in each. You may think..well why don't you just have it without the sugars? I would if I didn't think it tasted horrible without them =(.  So looks like water is my next best option, wish me luck on that one...don't think I'm likely to give up my tea but worth a try! (for a while atleast!)

3. Do lots of revision (standard!)

4. Make the most of being at home
- I've got a pretty jam packed summer and it's sort of just dawned on me that in September I will no longer be here! Of course I'm excited but now I've thought about it, God i'm going to miss it!

5. Plan out my summer carefully!
- There are lots of parties + shindigs + holidays being planned already, I don't want to double book or miss out on that one awesome party! Need to get things organised. (=

6. Discover a new band (as per, I'll keep you posted on that one)

7. Save up!
- I work at Hollister currently, but I need to start saving the money I'm earning instead of spending without thinking! I'll use the catch phrase 'money for thought' here (rather than food!)

8. Keep in contact with everyone (=
- Yes it's a busy time, exams blah blah blah, no excuse for not staying in touch though.

9. Enjoy life!
- Exams are temporary, the stress will fade and I'll never get these days back.  Need to embrace every moment + laugh and not cast small but important things aside.

10. GET LASHED.
- I'm sorry but once my exams are over, I hold no responsiblity to my actions. I'm going to T in the Park and basically...it's going to be mental (=

4 Artists To Look Out For This Summer

In this post I have included artists which I think you should be looking out for over the next few months.  Some of which already have a well-known reputation and are bringing out new material. Others are artists I think you are unlikely to have heard of before.  So please check out this new music and let me know what you think =).  Enjoy...

p.s. Sorry about the overlap of the videos over the sidebar, I tried to find a way around it but failed. I really wanted you to see the videos directly on my page so I hope it won't irritate you too much! =)

1. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Different? They certainly are, with a minimum of 10 members (and sometimes up to 16 in some songs) they create a hippy-esque feel to their music. They aren't very well known, but I think that they deserve better recognition for their work.

Check out their single 'Home' which I think is a wonderfully constructed piece of music.

2. 'Flaws' An acoustic album by Bombay Bicycle Club

As you already know, I'm slightly partial to a bit of the BBC.  Now I'm even more addicted with the news of a solely acoustic album being launched this summer =) Good vibes all around I feel.

Here's a sneaky peek of what to expect:

3. Jack Johnson

I'm sure you know this surfer dude by now.  His songs have managed to chill us all out with his laidback tunes such as 'Sitting Waiting Wishing' from the 'In Between Dreams' album (2005) and 'Upside Down' from the soundtrack to 'Curious George'.

Well guys...he's done it again.  He's brought out a brand new album 'To the Sea', containing songs that will be essential for a chillaxed summer of 2010.

Sit back and relax:

4. Eliza Doolittle

She is what I'd call a mix between Kate Nash and Lily Allen, with Lily's attitude and Kate's innocence, she brings passion and carefree fun into her music.  A London based girl, Eliza is the granddaughter of the famous Sylvia Young (no wonder she is so talented!).  With previous singles such as 'Rollerblades' (which was released in 2009), she has now created an album set to hit stores on the 28th June 2010.

Give Eliza a listen, I'm sure she is going to be big on the festival scene this summer:
